Itzhak Nissan appointed IAI CEO

Nissan will serve as acting CEO in place of current president and CEO Moshe Keret, and will officially take over in February.

Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd.’s (IAI) board of directors has unanimously appointed IAI MBT (MABAT) - Weapon Systems and Space Technology general manager Itzhak Nissan as CEO of the company. Nissan will serve as acting CEO in place of current president and CEO Moshe Keret, and will officially take over in February. The relevant ministries must approve the appointment.

Nissan joined IAI as a systems engineer in 1978. In managed the MBT plant, which makes space and armaments products, in 1995-2002. He won the Manufacturers’ Association's Israel Industry Award in 2001.

Nissan was appointed IAI VP and MBT general manager in 2002. The MBT division has $600 million in sales a year. The division builds the Arrow anti-ballistic missile missile, assault unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the Barak ship point missile defense system, and the Ofek reconnaissance and Amos communications satellites.

IAI chairman Yair Shamir said Nissan will lead the company to new heights in both its military and civilian areas of business.
