Netafim sets up factory in Mexico

The company is investing $5 million in the new facility.

Irrigation technology company Netafim Ltd. is to set up a drip irrigation pipe factory in Mexico at an investment of $5 million. Company VP corporate operations Tzvika Barkai said that this would be the first in a series of regional factories that the company intended to establish.

Netafim, which is active in 112 countries, currently has 12 local factories. Its irrigation equipment is used in 4,000 dunams (1,000 acres) of greenhouses and 15,000 dunams (3,750 acres) of plantations across Mexico. Netafim’s sales to Mexico increased 28% in 2006 over the previous year.
