PetNovations raises $2m

The firm was founded as Pets n' People.

Israeli start-up PetNovations Ltd., which has developed an automatic self-flushing cat box, has raised a further $2 million from its existing investors, former Syneron Medical CEO Moshe Mizrahy, and Israel Healthcare Ventures Ltd. (IHVC).

PetNovations was founded in 2000 under the name Pets n' People, and in 2005, Mizrahy bought the company's intellectual property rights for $2 million. The company has raised a total $5.5 million since then, including the current financing round, from Amos Bar-Shalev, Mizrahy himself, and IHVC. According to IVC Online, the company had $7 million sales in 2007.
