Shari Arison, the owner of Arison Holdings Ltd. and the controlling shareholder in Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI; LSE:80OA), has put up her yacht, "My Shanti" for sale through Merle Wood & Associates of Fort Lauderdale. She is asking $100 million.
The My Shanti is currently en route to the Riviera, either St. Tropez or Cannes.
Merle Wood's listing states that the My Shanti is 212 feet/64 meters long, and built by the Dutch shipyard Amels in 2007. Merle Wood is a family firm that has been in business for 200 years.
The My Shanti was assessed at $70-80 million a year ago, the price that Arison paid for it. The yacht has a banquet hall, cinema, staterooms, kitchen, and large mess room. It can reach a maximum speed of 40 knots. When berthed at the Herzliya Marina, it is the largest yacht present, outshining every other yacht.
The My Shanti's interior was designed by Terence Disdale Design of the UK. Amels also built Arison's previous yacht, the 50-meter Teddy, named for her father. She asked that the My Shanti be larger and more luxurious than the earlier one, and that it be suitable for children.
Shari Arison is also a shareholder in Carnival Cruise Lines (NYSE; LSE: CCL), the Arison family's luxury cruise business and the source of its wealth, managed by her brother, Micky Arison, a Miami resident.
