Noam Lanir sues Teddy Sagi in English court

Livermore Investments claims that Sagi sold them a gaming domain that infringed the rights of a Monaco casino.

Two of Israel's betting and gaming titans are doing battle in the English courts. Livermore Investments Group Ltd. (AIM:LIV) (formerly Empire On-Line), controlled by Noam Lanir is suing Crown Solutions Gaming Ltd. and Uniplay International Ltd., both private companies controlled by Teddy Sagi, who also controls betting and gaming on-line platform developer Playtech Ltd.

Livermore claims that Sagi's companies sold it a domain for operating Internet casinos that could not be used because it infringed the brand-name rights of Monaco based hotels and casinos SBM. Livermore was forced to abandon operations on the site and pay $3.4 million in compensation to SBM.

In the defense submitted to the court by Sagi's companies, it is claimed that Livermore did not consult them over the compromise they agreed with SBM and Livermore could have fought in the courts to carry on using the domain.
