Danish bank won't invest in Africa-Israel, Elbit Systems

It claims they fail to adhere to its socially responsible investment (SRI) policy

Mira Awwad Denmark's Danske Bank A/S (KFX: Nasdaq: DANSKE) has added Africa-Israel Investments Ltd. (TASE:AFIL; Pink Sheets:AFIVY) and Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) to its list of companies that fail to adhere to its socially responsible investment (SRI) policy, according to Danish media reports. The bank's SRI policy obliges it to examine the willingness of potential investments to follow international conventions in human rights and employment standards, among other things.

Reports in Danish media say that Danske Bank's list includes 24 companies. The reports said that Africa-Israel and Elbit Systems were added to the list because of activities in settlement areas and on the security fence.
