Supreme Court president assaulted in court

Judge Dorit Beinisch was hearing a case on medical marijuana.

President of the Supreme Court Dorit Beinisch was assaulted at court today during a hearing on medical marijuana. At 11 am, a man stood up in the back benches of the courtroom, made his way toward the panel of judges, headed by Beinisch, shouting, "Corruption! You've ruined my life!" He removed his shoes and threw them at the judge.

One shoe hit Beinisch in the face, and she fell off her chair.

The courtroom erupted into mayhem, the hearing was suspended, and the judges left to their chambers.

The Supreme Court bailiffs overcame the assailant, arrested him, and he is now being questioned.

The Supreme Court spokesman said that Beinish was bruised and received first aid. The other Supreme Court hearings continued normally.
