Lung monitor co PneuMedicare raises $1.25m

PneuMedicare's device warns on changes in lung ventilation or air distribution in the lungs before the development of life threatening deteriorations.

PneuMedicare has raised $1.25 million in a first round of financing. The investor is Globe Group. PneuMedicare is developing a medical device for continuous monitoring of lung ventilation in mechanically ventilated patients. Founded in 2007, the company is a graduate of the Yozmot HaEmek Ltd. incubator (formerly known as Ofek LaOleh Jezre'el Valley Initiative Center).

PneuMedicare's device warns on changes in lung ventilation or air distribution in the lungs in earlier stages, before the development of life threatening deteriorations due to decrease in blood oxygenation. The device characterizes the nature and the location of the problem and facilitates monitoring the ventilated patients, allows earlier treatment before the development of irreversible damages and improves the safety of mechanical ventilation.

The company is managed by Dr. Carmit Levy.
