Grow Fish Anywhere raises NIS 18m from Dutch fund

The company has developed an intensive aquaculture system that can raise fish in cleaner water than in fish farms.

GFA Advanced Systems Ltd. (Grow Fish Anywhere) has raised NIS 18 million from Dutch private equity fund Linnaeus Capital Partners.

GFA was founded in 2008 on the basis of research by Prof. Jaap van Rijn from the Faculty of Agriculture at Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The company developed technology for a fully closed, zero discharge intensive aquaculture system for both freshwater and seawater fish, which can raise fish in cleaner water than fish farms.

GFA will use the proceeds to expand its business and set up fish farms with its technology, which greatly reduce water consumption and neutralizes contaminants.

GFA has a facility in Hudson, upstate New York State in partnership with a local company that sells 100 tons of gilt-head bream a year.
