Benjamin Netanyahu's son gets new IDF PR job

Corporal Yair Netanyahu has been transferred to the IDF Spokesman's Office international unit.

Corporal Yair Netanyahu, the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has been transferred to the IDF Spokesman's Office international unit. Sources inform ''Globes'' that, after 18 months service, Yair Netanyahu's was transferred from his previous position at the IDF Spokesman's Office at his request.

Yair Netanyahu, 20, was drafted in late 2009, and joined the IDF Spokesman's Office after passing all the requirements. Most soldiers in the office's international unit speak foreign languages and are proficient with new media methods. The IDF Spokesman's Office has been greatly expanding its new media operations, including use of social networks, file sharing sites, and working with bloggers worldwide.

The IDF Spokesman's Office said, "The discussion, handling, and decisions with regard to Corporal Yair Netanyahu did not deviate from the unit's procedures."
