Israeli representatives are taking part in the TEDMED medical technology and healthcare conference, which opened in Washington DC on Tuesday. Among the members of the Israeli delegation are Judith Richter, joint founder and CEO of Medinol, Miki Haimovich, Dr. Yehuda Livneh, general patent counsel at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA), and Dr. Nurit Harel, co-chair of Fischer Pharmaceutical and a member of the governing body of the Manufacturers Association of Israel. In parallel, events are taking place today at the Peres Center for Peace, at which Israeli speakers will appear, while selected presentations will be transmitted live from the Washington conference.
Israel is the first country to be represented at the TEDMED conference by an official delegation. The conference runs until Friday. The members of the delegation were chosen to represent various aspects of innovation in industry relating to healthcare and the life sciences, and to introduce conference participants to the array of innovation taking place in Israel.
The delegation is led by Dr. Eitan Eliram, ambassador of Singularity University in Israel. He and his brother Adv. Yaron Eliram were chosen as the official representatives of TEDMED in Israel.
TEDMED is a multi-disciplinary community of innovators and leaders who share a determination to create a better future in health and medicine. A three-day conference is held annually at which the world's foremost lecturers and innovators in health and medicine present ideas that in many cases become the next big thing in their fields. The lectures become very popular items on the Internet when they are released.
