Int'l passenger traffic up at Ben Gurion Airport

International passenger traffic at Ben Gurion Airport totaled 1.24 million people in October 2013, 6% more than in October 2012. The airport handled 8,582 international flights in October.

Ben Gurion Airport handled 11.63 million passengers in January-October, 7.5% more than in the corresponding period of 2012.

The Israel Airports Authority expects more than 14 million domestic and internationals passengers at Ben Gurion Airport in 2013. In 2014, the airport will join the category of airports handling more than 15 million passengers a year.

Last week, Ben Gurion Airport opened the West Hall at Terminal 1 for low-cost flights to Europe under the open skies agreement. The terminal will handle 50,000-55,000 international passengers during the 2013-14 winter season.
