"Globes" Israel Business Conference opens Sunday

Speakers include President Shimon Peres, Finance Minister Yair Lapid, OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurria and Prof. Alan Dershowitz.

The 2013 Israel Business Conference, hosted by "Globes", Israel's leading financial newspaper, is the country's most prestigious business event. The two-day conference (December 8-9) will be attended by more than 4,000 executives, journalists and decision makers including keynote speakers: President of Israel, Shimon Peres; Minister of Finance, Yair Lapid, and OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría and more.

These past few years, we have all witnessed extensive volatility in the financial, political, and societal arenas. Upheavals have been felt throughout the world, impacting people and countries in different ways. The conference will be held in the light of the vicissitudes currently occurring on all these levels and discuss prospective economic, political and strategic scenarios as well as policy responses.

One of the keynote speakers will be Prof. Alan Dershowitz, the international celebrity attorney, author, speaker, teacher, and advocate of both civil liberties and Israel. His talk on the second day of the conference is sponsored by two organizations: StandWithUs, a 12 year-old, international, non-profit Israel education organization that supports people around the world who want to educate their campuses and communities about Israel; and the Tel Aviv International Salon is the premiere English-language speakers' forum in Israel.
