Israel's population grew 1.8% in 2013

175,000 babies were born in 2013 and 16,600 people immigrated to Israel, as the population reached 8,132,000.

Israel's population grew by 1.8% or 147,000 in 2013 and numbered 8,132,000 on the eve of 2014, the Central Bureau of Statistics reports. Of this number 6,102,000 (75.2%) are Jews, 1,682,000 (20.6%) are Arabs, and 348,000 (4.2%) are other groups. The rate of growth has remained stable over the past decade.

During 2013 only 16,600 people immigrated to Israel while 175,000 babies were born.
