Daylight savings time begins

Summer time will last until October 26.

Daylight savings time will begin Thursday night / Friday morning March 28 at 2 am when clocks will be moved forward one hour. Summer time will last 212 days until October 26.

Daylight savings has been extended this year following the passing of a new law six months ago. Previously summer time would end prior to Yom Kippur, usually in September.

Interior Minister Gideon Sa'ar said, "Today it is clear to all that an extra hour of daylight is good for everyone in Israel. I hear this from many people from all sectors and groups of the public. All of us have one more hour to enjoy before the sun sets."
