Mazor Robotics: Another disappointing quarter

Second quarter sales will not exceed $5 million.

Mazor Robotics Ltd. (TASE:MZOR), which produces spinal surgery guidance systems, has reported another disappointing no-growth quarter to the market. The company today published an orders report for the second quarter, which ended two days ago. The report states that the company sold four Renaissance Guidance Systems in the quarter: two in the US and two elsewhere. In the first quarter, the company sold three systems in the US and two in Asia: a total of five systems.

The company also reported that its brain application, launched this year, had been installed for the first time on one of the four systems ordered.

Mazor's announcement is in line with the company's declared reporting policy of reporting updates at the end of each quarter on the number of systems sold. The company will release its second quarter financial statements in early August.

Mazor finished the first quarter with $4.9 million in revenue and a $3.2 million non-GAAP loss.

According to the figures provided by the company today, a conservative prediction can be made that the company's second quarter revenue will not exceed $5 million. The analyst consensus is that the company's second quarter sales will total $6.4 million, meaning that the company will miss the estimates by a wide margin.
