The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) was mixed today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index edged up 0.03% to 1,395.89 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.06% to 1,251.72 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index fell 0.64% to 309.85 points. Turnover was NIS 957.6 million.
The TASE was mixed despite losses on European markets and the opening on Wall Street and the market was boosted by the Bank of Israel announcement that it is cutting the interest rate for August by 0.25% to 0.5%.
In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.427/$, down 0.029% on Friday's rate, and set the shekel-euro representative exchange rate at NIS 4.604/€, up 0.204%.
In the bond market, both long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds and long term Galil CPI-linked government bonds rose. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index rose 0.23%.
In the stock market, Gazit-Globe Ltd. (NYSE: GZT; TASE: GZT) fell another 0.95% after promising to inject capital into its ailing unit A target=new href=http://www.dori.co.il/>Dori Construction Group Ltd. (TASE: DORI), which fell another 8.6% today.
Israel Discount Bank (TASE: DSCT) rose 1.76% for the largest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index as it pushes ahead with its streamlining plan while Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) and Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 0.5% and 0.3% respectively.
Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 1.4% on the day's largest trading turnover but Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) fell 2.19% for the largest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index.
Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) rose 1.5%.
All three healthcare companies on the Tel Aviv 25 fell - Opko Health Inc. (NYSE: OPK; TASE: OPK) fell 1.71%, Perrigo Company (NYSE:PRGO; TASE:PRGO) fell 0.84% and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 0.37%.
