Wed: TASE flat

NICE Systems was the biggest decliner on the Tel Aviv 25 after reporting second quarter results.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.04% to 1,398.79 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.11% to 1,254.17 points, but the BlueTech 50 Index fell 0.39% to 309.81 points. Turnover was NIS 717.3 million.

The TASE rose slightly while there were falls on European markets but rises on the opening on Wall Street.

In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.429/$, up 0.88% on yesterday's rate, and set the shekel-euro representative exchange rate at NIS 4.596/€, down 0.159%.

In the bond market, both long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds and long term Galil CPI-linked government bonds fell. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.24%.

In the stock market, Mizrahi Tefahot Bank (TASE:MZTF) rose 2.44% for the largest gain on the Tel Aviv 25 Index. Israel Discount Bank (TASE: DSCT) rose 1.15% but Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) and Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) fell 0.3% and 0.1% respectively.

Also in positive territory today were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA), which rose 0.59% on the day's largest trading turnover ahead of its results tomorrow. Perrigo Company (NYSE:PRGO; TASE:PRGO) rose 0.53%, and Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) rose 1.18%.

NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) fell 2.17% for the largest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index after announcing higher revenue but lower profit in its second quarter results.
