The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) was mixed today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.28% to 1,456.28 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.01% to 1,305.02 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index fell 0.41% to 314.31 points. Turnover was NIS 1.69 billion.
The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 22% in 5774. The TASE reopens on Sunday after the Rosh Hashanah holiday.
In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.658/$, unchanged on yesterday's rate, and set the shekel-euro representative exchange rate at NIS 4.713/€, up 0.324%.
In the bond market, both long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds and long term Galil CPI-linked government bonds rose. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index rose 0.16%.
In the stock market, Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: ICL) fell 2.49% for the largest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index ahead of Wednesday's offering on the New York Stock Exchange. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 0.94% on the day's largest trading turnover.
Opko Health Inc. (NYSE: OPK; TASE: OPK) rose 2.45% for the largest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index, while Paz Oil Company Ltd. (TASE:PZOL) rose 1.73% and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 1.07%. Osem Investments Ltd. (controlled by Nestl? SA (SWX:NESN)) (TASE: OSEM) fell 1.66%.
Among mid-cap shares Clal Biotechnology Industries Ltd. (TASE: CBI) rose 0.39% after announcing that it is suing Hyperion for $200 million for the breakdown of the Andromeda Biotech sale.
