Ministry of the Interior passport control employees have begun a work-to-rule.

Without any warning, Ministry of the Interior employees at Ben Gurion Airport today began a strike, thereby violating the agreements with them, an Israel Airports Authority spokesman announced today.

"A short time ago, the Ministry of the Interior passport control employees began a work-to-rule action," the announcement read. "Israel is trying to restore its tourism and civil aviation sector, and someone, not for the first time, is sabotaging these efforts."

The Airports Authority added, "The Airports Authority management regards the outrageous and irresponsible behavior of the Ministry of the Interior employees at Ben Gurion Airport as an extremely serious matter."

The sanctions are causing overloads at border controls, and many passengers are having to stand in crowded lines. In addition to border control employees working slowly, some of the border control stations have been completely abandoned by the employees.
