Mobile app software co Insert raises $5m

The Tel Aviv company is developing a product to enable app owners to leverage the power of their mobile assets.

Mobile app software developer Insert has raised a $5 million seed round from Shlomo Kramer, co-founder of Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), Imperva Inc. (NYSE: ), and Trusteer, and from Mickey Boodaei and Rakesh Loonkar, co-founders of Trusteer.

The Tel Aviv based company, which will remain in stealth mode until it launches its beta product, aims to free app owners to simply and easily leverage the power of their mobile assets. Mobile apps are becoming increasingly important for many consumer-facing businesses, but their architecture resembles that of the desktop applications of the past. This creates many challenges for business owners and Insert’s goal is to solve these challenges, letting app owners easily leverage the power of their mobile assets.

The funds raised will be used to hire employees - developers and product managers - to complete the platform’s beta version and launch a pilot with Insert’s first customers.

Insert was founded by CEO Shahar Kaminitz, a serial technology entrepreneur. Kaminitz was the founder and CEO of Worklight, which developed software for mobile app development and infrastructure, and was acquired by IBM in 2012. Shlomo Kramer was also an investor and board member at Worklight.

Kaminitz said, “The product we’re developing is meant to help businesses realize the maximum value from their consumer facing mobile apps. We’ve spoken to market leaders in the mobile app space and they all indicate an urgent need for a platform such as insert, which will allow them to simply and easily leverage their significant mobile app presence."
