Unemployment fell from 5.6% in January to 5.3% in February, the Central Bureau of Statistics reports.

Unemployment fell from 5.6% in January to 5.3% in February, according to figures published today by the Central Bureau of Statistics. The labor force in Israel (age 15+) reached 3.81 million in February, including 3.6 million employed and 203,000 unemployed. 1.908 million of those employed were men, up from 1.9 million in January, and 1.7 million were women (unchanged from January).

The employment rate, the proportion of those employed in the total population, remained at 60.6% in February. The rate among males age 15+ rose from 65.3% in January to 65.5% in February, while the rate among women age 15+ fell from 56% in January to 55.8% in February.

The employment rate among those age 25-64 fell from 75.9% in January to 75.8% in February. The rate among men age 25-64 rose from 80.4% in January to 80.8% in February, while the rate among women age 25-64 fell from 71.5% in January to 70.9% in February.
