The woman driving the vehicle that exploded at the Ma'aleh Adumim checkpoint was severely injured.

An explosion occurred this morning in a vehicle close to a checkpoint between Ma'aleh Adumim and Jerusalem. Initial reports indicate that a woman in the vehicle was severely injured, and a policeman was injured lightly.

According to the reports, police from Ma'aleh Adumin spotted a suspect vehicle at the checkpoint, which was where a run-over attack took place last week. The police ordered the driver to halt for inspection, and she cried "Allah akhbar" and set off an explosive charge. A policeman aged about 45 was lightly injured. Police called to the spot disarmed another bomb discovered on the vehicle.

Shortly beforehand, stones were hurled at vehicles on road 443 between Jerusalem and Modi'in, close to a Dor fuel station. There are no reports of casualties or damage in this incident.
