The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.79% to 1,572.90 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.87%, to 1,355.17 points but the BlueTech Index fell 0.06%, to 342.23 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index rose 0.24%, to 314.90 points. Turnover totaled NIS 1.27 billion.
On the foreign exchange market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel dollar representative rate up 0.052% from yesterday's rate at NIS 3.879/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate was set up 0.268%, at NIS 4.111/€.
In the market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 5.74% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index on the day's biggest trading turnover. Mylan N.V.'s (Nasdaq: MYL; TASE: MYL) rose 1.71%, and NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) rose 1.91%.
Gazit-Globe Ltd. (NYSE: GZT; TASE: GZT; TSX: GZT) rose 3.68% and Strauss Group Ltd. (TASE:STRS) rose 4.98%.
Israel Chemicals (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) rose 2.81% and parent company Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO) rose 2.34%.
On the negative side of trading, Opko Health Inc. (NYSE: OPK; TASE: OPK) fell 2.62% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index and Frutarom Industries Ltd. (TASE: FRUT; LSE:FRUT; OTCBB:FRUTF) fell 1.43% on profit taking after its strong gains in recent days.
