The Finance Minister has blasted the Government Companies Authority's "huge failures" and wants to oust its head.

Minister of Finance Moshe Kahlon is determined to oust Government Companies Authority head Ori Yogev. He has again been highly critical of him, saying in a Channel 10 interview last night that the Government Companies Authority is not operating.

Kahlon said, "The Government Companies Authoritiy is not functioning because there are no directors. There are huge failures. I am the Minister of Finance and I'm responsible. I see and hear and am approached by the heads of government companies who tell me about the failures and I have to deal with them."

On Thursday, Yogev contacted the State Attorney Avichai Mandelblit in the wake of Kahlon's intention of changing procedures for ousting senior government officials - an initiative he sees as directed against him.

Yogev's terms as head of the Government Companies Authority ends in September 2017, and he has reportedly told associates that he has no intention of stepping down before then.
