Average hotel occupancy in the Red Sea resort hit a record 62% between December and March.

Despite the crisis in incoming tourism, Eilat hotels have reported a record ever occupancy rate during the winter season. According to Eli Lankri, Deputy Mayor of Eilat and head of the Eilat Tourist Association, the city's hotels had a record average occupancy rate of 62% during the winter season - December to March - up from 55% last year and 58% two years ago.

Eilat was boosted by internal tourism over the past four months with 1.48 million Israelis staying in the city compared with 1.44 million last winter.
