Broadcasts by a Ramallah pirate radio station are disrupting air communications on one of the airports busiest days.

Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) reported possible disruptions of the flight schedule at Ben Gurion Airport on the day before Passover, when air traffic reaches a peak. For the past hour, frequencies broadcast by a pirate radio station in Ramallah have been jamming communications in Israeli airspace.

For reasons of safety, the control tower maintains margins between flights, but as of now, there has been no real impact on takeoffs and landings.

Ben Gurion Airport said that today was one of the busiest days of the year, with 67,000 passengers passing through the airport. If the communications disruptions continue, the timetable of flights is liable to be affected.
