The government tender is for construction of 279 homes for rent in north Talpiot.

Another government tender for the construction of apartments for long term rental has been published this time in Jerusalem. The Israeli government's rental housing company Apartment for Rent, managed by Uzi Levy, the Israel Land Administration, and Jerusalem Municipality today published a tender inviting bids for 279 apartments for long-term rent.

The tender is for the construction of the apartments in the former Allenby military base in north Talpiot near Hebron Road. The tender is for the construction of 13 six-floor residential buildings covering an overall area of 29,000 square meters. The tender winners will build, operate and maintain the apartments for at least 20 years. 25% of the apartments (70 units) will be allocated to those entitled to discounted rental accommodation from the Ministry of Construction and Housing. These apartments will be 20% cheaper than rents on the free market.

As in all the other long-term rental tenders, the bid winner will be permitted to sell the apartments on the free market after 20 years. The deadline for bids is July 25, 2016.

Levy said, "In the near future, the company will publish tenders for other in-demand locations like Rishon Lezion as well as another Jerusalem tender in the Hadassah area with an emphasis on quality planning and construction and stressing sustainable green construction on a major scale with significant savings during construction and its costs."
