Wed: TASE gains for fourth-straight day

Opko, Delek and its energy units led the rises but Israel Chemicals lost ground.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today for the fourth straight session. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.87% to 1,440.69 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.95%, to 1,249.80 points and the BlueTech Index rose 1.51% to 334.44 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index fell 0.01% to 317.76 points. Turnover totaled NIS 1.5 billion.

On the foreign exchange market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate down 0.259% from yesterday's rate at NIS 3.855/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate down 0.611% at 4.295/€.

On the market, Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) rose 4.61% and its energy exploration and production units Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L) rose 4.64% and 3.72% respectively. Avner posted the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index today.

Opko Health Inc. (NYSE: OPK; TASE: OPK) rose 4.62%. Azrieli Group Ltd. (TASE: AZRG) rose 2.28% and Paz Oil Company Ltd. (TASE:PZOL) rose 0.86%. Both companies reported first quarter results today and a large rise in profits.

Israel Chemicals (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) fell 2.60% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index today. NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) fell 0.72% and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) fell 0.40%. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 0.40% on the day's biggest trading turnover.
