Tue: Tel Aviv 25 Index up 0.5% in May

Delek and its energy units led the declines today while Bank Hapoalim gained strongly.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange was mixed today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.22% to 1,444.34 points ending May down 0.5%; the Tel Aviv 100 Index was unchanged at 1,254.58 points; and the BlueTech Index rose 0.64% to 333.07 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index fell 0.04% to 318.09 points. Trading turnover was NIS 1.29 billion.

On the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate up 0.130% from Friday's rate at NIS 3.85/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate was set down 0.100% at NIS 4.295/€.

On the market, Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) fell 2.42% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index today. Its energy exploration and production units Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L) fell 1.9% and 2.15% respectively.

Gazit-Globe Ltd. (NYSE: GZT; TASE: GZT; TSX: GZT) fell 2.27% and Frutarom Industries Ltd. (TASE: FRUT; LSE:FRUT; OTCBB:FRUTF) fell 1.98%.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 0.20% on the day's biggest trading turnover and Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO) rose 0.81%. Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 1.38% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 0.40%.
