The eggs from the Palestinian Authority had forged markings and were deemed dangerous for human consumption.

About 40,000 eggs, which were smuggled into Israel from the Palestinian Authority have been seized in a joint operation by Israel Police, the Israel Tax Authority, and the Israel Egg and Poultry Board. The eggs were found in a warehouse in the home of a resident of Tamra in the Lower Galilee. The eggs were not under the supervision of the Israeli authorities and some of them had forged markings.

Supervisory staff from the Egg and Poultry Board who examined the eggs ruled that the eggs were dangerous for human consumption.

The owner of the warehouse and his son were arrested under suspicion of smuggling the eggs from the Palestinian Authority and the eggs were destroyed.
