396 housing units are being assigned in four lotteries in Rishon Lezion's Harakefot neighborhood.

Demand for the buyer fixed price lottery in Rishon Lezon is breaking records. According to figures from the Ministries of Finance and Construction and Housing's national housing headquarters, over 19,000 eligible people have registered for the lotteries. As of today, four lotteries with a combined supply of 396 discounted apartments in the Harakefot neighborhood in Rishon Lezion are open for registration.

Registration for the first lottery is scheduled to close at the end of the current month, while registration for the other three will remain open until early August.

As in every buyer fixed price lottery, a given proportion of the discounted housing units is reserved for local residents. In this case, 78 of the 396 total housing units in the lotteries are set aside for local residents, who will receive preference in the lottery.

According to the figures, as of July 19, 44,400 people had been issued certificates of eligibility, and the number of households registered for at least one lottery was just over 33,000. 1,964 discounted housing units have been assigned through lotteries in the buyer fixed price and target price programs to date.

In addition to registration for the Rishon Lezion lotteries, there are other projects open for lottery registration in Kiryat Motzkin (66 discounted apartments) Yeruham (180), Dimona (54), Afula (80), and a target price project in Rosh HaAyin with 94 discounted apartments. The total number of discounted apartments currently open for lottery registration is 870.

Demand was also substantial in other communities where the lottery is open for registration. 7,300 eligible people have registered in Kiryat Motzkin, 4,000 in Yeruham, 3,800 in Dimona, 3,200 in Afula, and as of now 17,500 in the Rosh HaAyin target price project.

Both the number of those registering for lotteries and the number of those who have obtained eligibility certificates indicate that a major proportion of those with eligibility certificates have registered for lotteries, but not all of them; at least 10,000 people with eligibility certificates apparently prefer to wait for a specific lottery, and are selective about the location, and perhaps also the price or contractor. At the same time, the fact that 44,400 people have obtained eligibility certificates still raises a question about the number of those eligible, estimated a year ago by the Ministry of Construction and Housing at 250,000.
