During Boaz Tzafrir's five years at the head of Israel Railways, the number of passengers rose 70%.

Israel Railways CEO Boz Tzafrir has stepped down after five years at the helm. VP rolling stock Beni Lavi will serve as acting CEO until a permanent replacement is appointed.

During Boaz Tzafrir's five years at the head of Israel Railways the number of passengers rose 70% and the level of punctuality increased 96%, while the company swung from loss to profit.

Tzafrir said, "Israel Railways has successfully undergone a strategic and cultural transformation as expressed in most of the company's areas of endeavor. The deepest and most major change that we have led in recent years has been in instilling a professional and transparent business and social culture in which the passenger is first and foremost our customer.
