Opposition leader Isaac Herzog spoke at a rally in Tel Aviv marking the 21st anniversary of the murder of Yitzhak Rabin.

Tens of thousands of people attended a rally in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square last night to mark the anniversary of the murder of Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, which happened at a peace rally in the square twenty-one years ago.

The rally was organized by the Zionist Union party, after the official commemorative event was cancelled. Rabin was the leader of the Labor Party, the main component of the Zionist Union.

Speaking at the rally, Zionist Union leader Isaac Herzog said that attempts at forming a unity government with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were over. "In recent days, all the red lines have been crossed," Herzog said, "When I saw the prime minister's silence in the face of wild attacks on IDF officers and soldiers, when I see the indifference to the suffering of people who live in the north of Israel and thousands of teachers who do not receive their salaries, the ignoring of the plight of young people groaning under their mortgages, and doctors who work long hours and receive curses in return, I say enough. And when I see the prime minister declare war on democracy, I say, Netanyahu, enough. The unity government episode is over."
