Smart Net will be stationed on the router, and will protect every home device connected to the Internet.

Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) is launching a new added value service, named Smart Net, for protecting an entire home against cyber attacks.

According to Bezeq chief marketing and innovation officer Gil Rosen, the new service puts Bezeq far ahead of its competitors in home cyber protection. He predicted that 20 home devices would be connected to the Internet by 2020, adding that the mission was to take responsibility and make much broader protection services available. Rose stressed that every smart device was becoming an entry point for the home, and was exposed to cyber attacks.

Bezeq presented surveys showing that most of the public feels inadequately protected against cyber attacks. Rosen said that no company in Israel was providing a general service for all home appliances. He compared the new service, which he said was the smartest and most secure in Israel, to a household Iron Dome against cyber attacks.

The advantage of the service is that the protection is stationed on the router itself, so that every device in the home connected to the Internet is automatically protected. The customer downloads an app for managing all the devices on the network, which reminds the customer of what is connected and the level of protection.

The service was developed with Israeli cybersecurity company SAM Seamless Network. It is free for the first three months, and costs NIS 9.90 per month after that.
