Tara's measure follows price hikes earlier this week by Tnuva.

Tara Dairies is following in the footsteps of Tnuva by raising prices of its products that are not subject to price controls. Tara, owned by the Central Bottling Company (Coca Cola Israel) and managed by CEO Tal Raban, announced price hikes of 1.5% to 3.4% on some of its noncontrolled dairy products.

Tnuva announced price increases of similar magnitude earlier this week. Tara said that the price rise followed an increase of over 10% since January 2017 in the price of raw milk, which accounts for a substantial proportion of production costs for dairy products.

Examples of Tara's price hikes are puddings (2.4%), yellow cheese (3.4%), cream cheese (1.5%), and fruit yoghurt (2.2%). The price increases will go into effect in the coming days.
