5,329 new homes were sold in the second quarter, compared with 6,430 in the second quarter in 2017.

Purchases of new homes totaled 5,329 in the second quarter of 2018, down 17%, compared with 6,430 in the second quarter of 2017, according to a survey published today by the Central Bureau of Statistics at the initiative of the Ministry of Construction and Housing. Since May 2016, demand for new homes has fallen by an average of 1.5% monthly, from 4,220 homes in May 2016 to 2,890 in June 2018.

Nearly 26% of the new homes sold in the second quarter were in the northern district, nearly 17.5% were in the Tel Aviv district, nearly 12% in the Haifa district, and nearly 9% in the Jerusalem district.
