However, the mineral water company says it is business as usual from its Katzrin spring.

After two irregularities brought a halt in production at the Mey Eden mineral water bottling plant, the company has confirmed that today that a third irregularity was found. Sample testing has found a higher level of bacteria than permitted by the Ministry of Health.

However, the company stressed that while it has stopped drawing and bottling water from the contaminated Salukia spring on the Golan Heights, it is "business as usual" regarding water bottled from its spring in Katzrin. The company added that "the water in its plant has been tested and found to be safe."

With high demand for mineral water in August, a shortage is expected in Israel's stores in the coming days.

In recent days, vacationers in northern Israel have been hospitalized with leptospirosis after bathing in the River Jordan. The bacteria have been traced to the Salukia spring on the Golan Heights and it is suspected that the water was contaminated by feces from nearby livestock.
