This brings to 18 the number of IDF fatalities since the operation in Gaza began.

The IDF has said that 13 Golan soldiers were killed last night in the fierce fighting in the Sejiya neighborhood of Gaza. The IDF spokesman said that the identification process was nearing completion after which with the consent of the families, who have already been informed, the names of the fallen would be published. Several dozen more soldiers were injured in Sejiya. This brings to 18 the number of IDF soldiers killed since the operation in Gaza began last Thursday night.

Seven of the Golani soldiers were killed when an anti-tank missile hit their armored personnel carrier and six others were killed in other incidents.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz said, "Today we suffered more casulaties than on previous days. We entered into combat in difficult and complex places but we are determined to undertake these missions. I'm glad we have proven that we can cope with all difficulties and we will continue to act as required."

Hamas lost dozens of terrorists in the battle in Sejiya but a temporary humanitarian cease-fire this afternoon collapsed after the Palestinians resumed rocket fire on Israel.

This evening Hamas fired rockets at Beersheva, Netivot and the settlements around Gaza and Iron Dome intercepted four rockets. There were no reports of casualties or damage. Since this morning Hamas has fired 70 rockets.
