Pele-Phone signs $7m value added service deal with SK Telecom

The services and applications will use Pele-Phone’s existing CDMA network and future 1x-CDMA network.

Pele-Phone CEO Yacov Gelbard and SK Telecom VP Dr. Woo Hyun-ho signed a $7 million value added service deal.

Under the contract, Pele-Phone will buy SK Telecom's (NYSE:SKM; Korea: 17670) applications management and content system, SKVM, plus a variety of content services and applications that will operation on the company's existing CDMA network and future 1x-CDMA network.

Gelbard said at the signing ceremony that the agreement would make Pele-Phone the leading value added services supplier in Israel and one of the leading operators in the world.

SK Telecom has 16 million customers, including 5 million cellular Internet services subscribers. The company's turnover in 2001 was $4.5 billion.
