Digital display technology co Oplus raises $10m

Benchmark Capital and BRM Capital led the round with Giza Venture Capital participating.

Israeli start-up Oplus Technologies has raised $10 million in its third financing round. The round was reportedly held at $25 million company value, before money. Oplus develops display and video processor integrated circuits and integrated software solutions for the digital display market.

Benchmark Capital and BRM Capital led the round with Giza Venture Capital participating. Defta Partner Group, which led Oplus's second round and invested in its first round, did not participate in this round. Oplus raised $6.5 million in its second round a year ago, including investments from several Japanese companies. The Office of the Chief Scientist awarded Oplus a NIS 2.6 million R&D grant in January 2003.

Dr. Joseph Segman founded Oplus in 1993. It has 60 employees, mostly at its Yokne'am development center. Its customers include Korea’s LG Electronics’ (KSE:66570), Japan's JVC and Panasonic, and Taiwan's BenQ (Taiwan:2352). Dr. Yair Alpern is CEO.
