Erel Margalit 48th on ''Forbes'' Midas List

Jerusalem Venture Partners managing partner Erel Margalit is the first Israeli to make the prestigious list.

Jerusalem Venture Partners founder and managing partner Erel Margalit is ranked 48th on ''Forbes'' Midas List, which ranks the world's top venture capitalists. Margalit was ranked 59th in last year's Midas list. He is the first Israeli to make the prestigious list of top 100 venture capitalists.

JVP focuses on early-stage software, network, semiconductor, communications, and wireless infrastructure companies. 60% of its business is in Israel. JVP manages $675 million. Its exits include Chromatis Networks (sold to Lucent Technologies (NYSE:LU)) and Precise Software Solutions (sold to Veritas (Nasdaq:VRTS)). Its largest exit in the past year was the sale of half its stake in PowerDsine (Nasdaq: PDSN).
