Tue: TASE up despite Teva's plunge

Teva and Mylan led the losses today but the banks led by Leumi and Hapoalim rose strongly.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.84% to 1,428.16 points; the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.55% to 1,248.47 points; and the BlueTech Index rose 0.72% to 353.49 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index rose 0.04% to 320.35 points. Trading turnover was NIS 1.01 billion.

On the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate up 0.052% from Friday's rate at NIS 3.817/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate was set up 0.036% at NIS 4.204/€.

On the market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 5.19% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index on the day's biggest trading turnover. Mylan N.V. (Nasdaq: MYL; TASE: MYL) fell 2.02%, Opko Health Inc. (NYSE: OPK; TASE: OPK) fell 1.75% and Perrigo Company (NYSE:PRGO; TASE:PRGO) fell 0.74%.

Frutarom Industries Ltd. (TASE: FRUT; LSE:FRUT; OTCBB:FRUTF) rose 4.10% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 2.83%. Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) rose 2.89% and Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 3.15%. Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) rose 3.20% and NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) rose 2.50%.
