Netanya's David Tower Hotel has been rebranded as the M gallery by Sofitel and a new Accor hotel will open in Tel Aviv next year.

The Accor international hotel chain has opened a new hotel in Netanya. Earlier this month the French chain rebranded the David Tower Hotel in Netanya as the M gallery by Sofitel - a luxury brand with 75 hotels worldwide. Accord has invested an estimated NIS 80 million in the new hotel.

Accor says that the Netanya M gallery by Sofitel is the first of several hotels that it plans establishing in Israel and that during 2017, it will open a hotel in Tel Aviv on the site of the former Elkonin Central Hotel in Lilienblum St. in the financial district, one of the city's first-ever hotels.

Designed by architect Michael Azulai, the David Tower, now the M gallery by Sofitel, is a seven-floor, 75-room hotel near Independence Square in downtown Netanya. The new hotel is designed to serve the business community and will include an executive lobby, computer rooms and executive meeting rooms. The hotel also has a 1,000 square meter spa, heated indoor swimming pool, restaurants and bar and rest areas overlooking the Mediterranean. Pricves start from NIS 750 per couple for an overnight stay and breakfast with more luxurious rooms available for NIS 3,500 per night.

Established in 1967, the Accord chain operates the Mercure, Novotel, Sofitel, Ibis, All Seasons and other chains. There is already a Mercure Hotel in Tel Aviv and Ibis Hotel in East Jerusalem.
