Gett and Hadar Taxi jointly won a Ben Gurion tender by offering a 30% discount on the list price.

Shortly after it was reported that Hadar Taxi and Gett had won a tender to operate taxi service at Ben Gurion Airport, Hadar Taxi drivers are up in arms, saying their livelihood is being affected.

Gett and Hadar Taxi jointly won a Ben Gurion tender by offering a 30% discount on the list price (not including special supplements, such as for baggage). Hadar Taxi drivers, who up until now have enjoyed a monopoly on taxi service at the airport, are angry about the terms of the agreement, which they says harms their livelihood, among other things because of the NIS 5 that each driver must pay when leaving the airport, a charge that drivers are barred from rolling over onto the passengers.

As of now, negotiations are taking place between Hadar Taxi and the drivers in order to find a solution that will avoid damage to the drivers' livelihood. The Israel Airports Authority has granted an extension for these negotiations until tomorrow at 2:00 PM, in the hope that a solution will be found.
