Israeli airline Arkia is adding Embraer, Airbus and Boeing aircraft, and expanding to new destinations.

After seventeen years, Israel airline Arkia Airlines Ltd. is rebranding with a new livery (designed by Baruch Nae). The airline has also announced the addition of five Embraer jets to its aircraft fleet, with a sixth due in a few months' time. Arkia will also start to operate two Boeing 757-300 aircraft, and within a year will commission Airbus A321neo aircraft as well.

In addition, in the next few months, Arkia will integrate Internet-based entertainment and media systems using the "bring your own device" method, so that passengers will be able to enjoy content on their smartphones or tablets, as on other airlines such as Lufthansa. Arkia is also coming into line with international airlines by offering Wi-Fi Internet free on the new Airbus planes. It is also launching an app providing all the information the passenger needs and facilitating early check-in and seat allocation.

Furthermore, Arkia does not intend to let Israir Airlines and Tourism Ltd. (which has recently announced a new flight destination in Russia: Sochi) settle in second place among Israeli airlines after El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) for volume of business, per Israel Civil Aviation Authority reports. Arkia has announced the expansion of its route map, with flights to Belgrade, Batumi, Bucharest, Sardinia, Thessalonica, Milan, Northern Cyprus, and London.
