Ben Gurion airport set for busiest day of year

A 6% rise to a record two million passengers is projected for August.

Today, Thursday, August 25, 2016, is the busiest day of the year at Ben Gurion Airport. Passenger traffic is slated to reach 87,000 for the day (the original figure was 85,000, but flights were added). Almost 500 flights will take off for international vacation destinations.

A record 6% rise in passenger traffic is projected for August, with two million passengers passing through the airport.

The high level of traffic is expected to continue into September, with 1.7 passengers going through the airport and traffic picking up towards the beginning of October as the High Holy Days approach - another period of travel and vacation.
