The stoppage Thursday from 11 am to 2 pm will be in solidarity with Israel Post workers who are expanding their strike action.

The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) workers committee will strike Ben Gurion Airport tomorrow for three hours tomorrow morning from 11 am to 2 pm in solidarity with Israel Postal Company workers. During the stoppage no planes will be allowed to take off and passengers on planes that land will be unable to collect their baggage.

The IAA Workers Committee said that such short notice of the strike would encourage all parties involved in the Postal Authority dispute to swiftly find a solution. "We won't allow the State to fire 1,500 workers and hire contract employees instead, " IAA Workers Committee Chairman Pinchas Idan said.

Meanwhile the Postal Authority workers will expand their strike action to halt collecting taxes, and transferring ownership of vehicles, as well as other services. The Post Office will continue their refusal to process fines.
