Bennett: Israel has job quality problem

Naftali Bennett: Unemployment is low, the problem is the quality of jobs.

"Israel does not have an unemployment problem. Unemployment is at its lowest level in years. The problem is the quality of jobs" Minister of the Economy Naftali Bennett told students at the Ono Academic College today.

Commenting on the end of the era of tenure, Bennett said, "Once, it was possible in Israel to join a big company, such as Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. or a big bank, at 22, work until 60-plus, and retire. That era is over. The security that if you do everything expected of you, everything would be all right is over. There might be waves of layoffs, the company might close, and an entire young generation must look at their careers in a completely different way, and realize that, throughout your lives, you will have to invest in self-development in order to be flexible."
