Tel Aviv based IdMlogic develops intelligent identity management applications.

Software giant CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA) has acquired Israeli company IdMlogic. Both companies have confirmed the acquisition but have not disclosed financial details. Market sources estimate the acquisition was for $20 million. IdMlogic, which has been operating under the radar for several years, develops intelligent identity management applications.

CA Technologies has been one of the most active international companies in terms of Israeli acquisitions over the past decade. In 2006, it acquired XOsoft, which develops back-up and retrieval solutions, for $100 million. In 2008, it acquired Eurekify, which manages IT permit systems, for $20-30 million, and in 2009, CA acquired Oblicore for $25 million. Its most recent acquisition was of big data company Nolio in 2013 for $40 million. All told IdMlogic is CA's twelfth Israeli acquisition. In the past, CA Israel's management was associated with irregularities and several senior executives were compelled to step down.

IdMlogic provides the unifying, business-oriented front-end application for CA Identity Suite, making identity governance and application access simple and intuitive for the business user. All IdMlogic employees have joined CA. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

IdMlogic’s solution provides the technical sophistication and simplicity needed to meet the demands of both IT and the business user. IdMlogic’s decision tools and intuitive user interface, combined with CA’s identity management and access governance solution, make it easier for business users to complete identity-related processes without compromising on the robust security that IT demands.

CA Technologies Senior VP and Security general manager Steve Firestone said, “The addition of IdMlogic’s solution to our security portfolio allows CA to continue innovation that streamlines business user management and governance of identities by converting IT language to business language.”

IdMlogic, headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, was founded in 2004 by Iris Sharoni and Mike Trubatch.

IdMlogic Iris Sharoni said, “For more than three years, we’ve enjoyed a very successful partnership with CA helping to deliver CA Identity Suite to some of the largest enterprises. We look forward to joining the team to continue further innovation for our customers and prospects and deliver the best identity and access governance solution in the market."

The acquisition comes at a somewhat surprising time after CA technologies closed its commercial operations in Israel two weeks ago and fired dozens of employees. Some of the employees will be taken in by Ness Technologies, which will represent CA Technologies in sales. CA Technologies Israel development center has 150 employees.
